Solo show Invitation from Little things at Gallerí Grótta 12.02.2026- 07.03.2026

There are countless events happening around us without us becoming aware of them. Energy is in constant flow, changing the form and movement of matter. On a cold winter day, water molecules are released from warm water. They break free from their bonds with one another and rise into the air. A white mist creates a beautiful landscape that reminds us of the constant flow of energy.

Our perception detects this fascinating interplay between energy and matter, even though we do not witness the energy exchange with the naked eye. In the same way, we sense events that are hidden in elapsed time. When the diaphragm takes its first movement and life awakens, the moment is filled with wonder and vitality. Yet within steady and mechanical movements, the vitality that is still present within us — in full strength — is often forgotten.

The exhibition Invitation from Little Things is a reminder of those moments when we once again realize how small things — insignificant yet important — allow us to move step by step through life, like a floating leaf carried along a stream. A tiny caterpillar on a finger, moving with great intensity, sincerity, and full presence, reminds us to face life with courage despite its inevitable limitations.

I hope the exhibition offers audiences an asethetic experience of an imagined moment when the fragile can remains fragile in peace.

Solo show Adherence at Listasal Mosfellsbærjar

25.05 – 21.06. 2024

Passing by an exuberant summer flower, I couldn´t resist thinking about asking her about her growth. Of course, it has no answer for me other than its vitality. While drawing as large a pencil drawing as possible that my arm could make, I asked the same question over and overa again. Why? Why make this repetition? The act of making mimics how life is generated. It is a process filled with wonder, yet at the same time, it is a reckless, purposeless and even precarious endeavor.

Dedicating yourself to the creation of an art work is similar. It is a pursuit because it offers from time to time, the wonderful experience of stumbling upon something that you haven´t seen manifested before. Yet, at the same time, it is a painful, purposeless even precarious process.

The works in this show have grown with me in the studio over time and I hope the audience can relate to them with their own sense of time and perhaps even find a biological or emotional connection with them.
